A realistic pet simulation game that involves player to care for the puppy just like the real one. The puppy in this game will become hungry, thirsty or dirty after a period of time. It is up to the player to feed the puppy, keep the puppy clean, take the puppy out for a walk, teach some tricks and train puppy for the contest to earn money.

Pros - The game play is quite realistic, uses touch screen easy to navigate, uses voice command to teach puppy its name and tricks, uses real time synchronizes with the Nintendo DS clock. The game includes 20 dog breeds. The player can have up to 8 puppies, but only 3 can be kept at home, while the rest must be deposited at the Dog Hotel. If the player no longer wants the puppy, he or she can donate the puppy at the Dog Hotel. All dogs in this game will always be puppies, they never grow up, never become sick and never die.

Cons - The graphic is not as realistic as it should be. Puppies are only available in 3 different looks per breed. Some aspect of the game is not realistic, puppies never get old, never get sick, never die and never make a mess in the house. All puppies have the same requirements, same exercise needs, the only difference seems to be the personality.

A realistic pet simulation game and a sequel of Nintendogs game. This game involves player to care for the puppy and kitten just like the real one. The puppy and kitten in this game will become hungry, thirsty or dirty after a period of time. It is up to the player to feed the puppy and kitten, keep them clean, take the puppy out for a walk, teach some tricks and train puppy for the contest to earn money. Keeping the kitten is a bit different from puppy. Kitten cannot be taught tricks, cannot be taken out for a walk and they prefer exploring the furniture in the house.

Pros - Even more realistic graphic than Nintendogs. The top screen can be viewed in 3D. The game uses touch screen easy to navigate, uses voice command to teach name and tricks, uses real time synchronizes with the Nintendo 3DS clock. The game includes 27 dog breeds and 3 different types of cats. There are more variety in sizes and colors for both dogs and cats. All dogs and cats in this game will always be either puppies or kittens, they never grow up, never become sick and never die. If the player no longer wants the puppy or kitten, he or she can donate it at the Pet Hotel.

Cons - While there are more choices of dog breeds + cats to choose from, the player can only keep 6 pets in total as oppose to a total of 8 puppies for Nintendogs. Some aspect of the game is not realistic, puppies and kittens never get old, never get sick, never die and never make a mess in the house. All puppies have the same requirements, same exercise needs, the only difference seems to be the personality.

A fantasy virtual pet game that can be played for free on the website www.neopets.com . The objective of the game is to earn money (Neopoints) by playing mini games. From there, the player can buy food to feed the pet or buy anything else such as quest items, furniture for furnishing the house (Neohome), buy collectibles or use Neopoints to upgrade their shop and house. The player can have up to 4 pets. The pet can be given away at the pound if the player no longer wants it.

Cons - Player under the age of 13 will need parental permission and the content of the game will be limited. Some pets and some items are limited. This game is very competitive, if your computer or the internet is slow, you will be at disadvantages.

An egg-shaped digital pet. Small and portable resembled digital watch. The objective of the Tamagotchi is to keep the pet alive for as long as possible. If it is neglected, it will die. An RPG game that involves a turn-base strategy battle. From the beginning, the player will be given a Pokemon, which will help you battle and progress the game. Later on, you can capture more Pokemon to help you build the best team. This may not be a pet simulation game, but it does involve the player to care, train and befriend with the Pokemon in order to become stronger Pokemon Trainer. If you want to have Pokemon as a pet, Pokemon Heart Gold / Pokemon Soul Silver is highly recommended because both games included a Pokewalker (a pedometer) for free. You can upload your Pokemon from the game to Pokewalker and then go out for a walk. Now you have a Pokemon pet that can go anywhere with you.
